2017-09-09 an election tilt! (again)

Left: letterboxing is not a good use of money.

Not sure what I was thinking, but felt it would be good to go for local council. There are zero pedestrian crossings except for right in the middle of Crows Nest. Crossing the street is dangerous. Plus would love to push more bike lanes, and help stop the crazy development proposals around here. Two Councillors quit, so I'd thought there would be a lack of interest in the position. Wrong! After I'd stumped up the funds, it turns out there were about 14 people going for it. I got 89 voters, about 2200 short of the target. The council looks like a real mish mash of people, a couple of nasty Liberal types, a mayor that favours the major road coming through the area, so am probably pretty glad to give it a miss really.

Right: crazy amounts of car parking for every development.

Left: beginner's mistake no. 1, the text on this was way way too small.

Right: good way to get around to each polling station to put up posters.

Left: I postered about 8 polling booths, and made it to Cammeray Public School by around 8am.

Right: as per each election, the bike makes a great corflute or poster display stand.

Left: after getting up super early, and staying around all day, time to snooze it up.
