Our great news: Louis is here!

<-- Louis at the weigh in: 4.155kg (9lbs 3ounces)

Being stretched to 56cm (22in) wearing nothing but a fig leaf -->

Woke up with Marie having contractions, which were rapidly picking up. Rushed breakfast, kissed bye to grandma Baka and Ollie.

Arrived at the hospital at about 9am and 4cm, then got into a room after Marie started swearing. Morphine and gas helping somewhat. Papa had very civilised lunch brought in. Got the eppy sometime after 2pm, and then even had a power nap. Being the only people on the ward at the time, we had all the doctors and nurses coming through at various times.

At roughly 4pm, we were ready to start pushing and at 5.05pm, Louis arrived! We got to see him at last. Everyone was happy and healthy apart from a few stitches, and a squished up screaming bub.

Ollie and Louis have 23 cousins (plus another boy in 20 weeks). Ollie visits often. All the young'uns get pretty excited.

<-- Listening to Tess's fine fiddling. Hmm maybe I can have a go one day.

At the park

<-- On the way to childcare. The smile vanishes at the gate. It's heartbreaking. He's happy enough once inside and playing in the sandpit etc.

Ahead of his time for style. Hey, you should save that hat for when you're seventy. -->

Triathlon

It's not often this happens, so I thought I'd record it.

<- the swim was in front of the bridge and the Opera House.

I'm an athlete, honest ->

<- Citect got bought out, so now we're Schneider Electric, and the team got a lot bigger.

A trip to the zoo

<-- the giraffes with the best views win

built on the side of a hill opposite the city, Taronga is a nice spot. -->

We saw the big cats, some turtles, a kimono dragon, giraffes, performing seals, pandas, and that hind of thing.

<-- Marie, Evonne and me get to push around the troublemakers

A trip to Anna's

<-- Ollie really enjoyed his swim in the river

Anna and Marie ->

<- Ollie on a Adam's nice bike

A trip from work

<- it started with 2km of bush track. My work buddies chose to walk part of it, as they had substandard equipment ->

We left from Gordon after a night shift, on a Saturday morning. I went to Abbotsford, to Tony and Evonne's house, for something to do, and to try to get another recruit into cycling to/from work.

<- a lot of the trip was off road path. Here we have a converted rail bridge over the Parramatta River, extremely convenient.

Ride to work/paintball

<-- Dave grins on Ride to Work Day. 10 people saved about 50kg of CO2 in one day alone. We just need to work on the other 260 people in the office. My 11km ride goes past some beautiful backyards, and is a shaded tree-lined path for half of it. -->

<-- Chappy, the groom, after being peppered by paintballs. I got some nasty ones at the end of the day, when we thought we might have some balls left over, and they had some can't-die battles. -->

Day at the museum + visit Charlie

<-- The most popular guy on the train.
