Vulkathunha National Park

We got lost and miss the turn for the park, ending up in near Blinman, then rolling down into the park from the top. It's a bit stressful to find the campsite late at Trezona. The only way to reserve your spot is by internet. So we chance it, panicking when a car turns up late, but it turns out no probs. We book another two nights once we get to Wilpena. The Pound is a beautiful walk.
Wilpena Pound.
Random shot along the way somewhere.
Next day, we stay in camp for school, then go local for a short walk.
The walk near Trezona campground. Lots of nice scenery.
The walk near Trezona, and the welcoming committee.

 On the walk near Trezona.

Later on the walk, there are Stromatolites; evidence of the first life on earth that converted CO2 into oxygen to start the rest of life on earth.

At the end of the day, there's always fun to be had with hotwheels track.
Lunch and some more schoolwork at Blinman, first at the cafe for a drink, then over pies for lunch. Finally we push on to Vulkathanha (if I spelled it right?)

More random scenes on the way:
We get to Vulkathunha, a national park. The lady ranger tells us we can camp there overnight, but normally they don't allow it. Turns out they had rooms for $45, which we would have taken in a flash. We camp between two small buildings. We're allowed to use the shower. There's two toilets and a washing machine. Such luxury! Even Ollie is happy to be showered and refreshed.
Next morning, there is a board with a local legend. Two birds go to the berry patch. The male starts eating the delicious berries. After some time, there are rain clouds moving in. The lady bird tells him they must leave now; the rain is coming. The male, intent on eating, and enjoying himself does not listen to her saying they need to go. She gets enraged and smacks him over the head with some weapon. His head bleeds all over his neck. This is how the male bird got his red marks. The female is plain coloured. The lady ranger laughs and says things haven't changed for thousands of years!

We didn't drive this road; next fuel stop 430kms. We were going the other way to Arkaroola, only about 100 odd clicks.
