Left: Chap's holiday read is Alcatraz
Right: Mariachis in the Parian - Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.
After the informalities of walking over the border (Chappy had his bag searched), we walked into a gaggle of hawkers and spruikers. One guy walked us the 200m to a hotel, which was very clean and we lay out on the beds after a long hot day starting in Tucson, Arizona, and ending in Nogales, Sonora, Mex.
The streets of Nogales are small and choked with beeping cars. Dodgy people ask if you want anything, but mostly the place is fine with some great places to eat and drink.
We bus it to Hermosillo, which takes all day. We rapidly realise there's no hope of making it down in time by bus, and fly instead to Guadalajara. First stop is my old town, Tlaquepaque, a 30 minute cab ride.
